Nikky - Co-Owner / Aesthetician
I have always been obsessed with the beauty industry and everything about it. At a very young age my mom taught me how to take care of my skin, she always told my sister and me how important it is to wash your face and she always bought us the best products. It just stuck with me I guess. When I was finally of age to work, I always had a job in the beauty industry working at cosmetic counters. As much as l loved makeup, it was the skincare products that excited me more. I decided to go to esthetics school in 2000. It's been such an inspiring journey since. I’ve met so many great and knowledgeable humans along the way in this industry. I met Sean, who is not only my business partner but my bestie. And most importantly, I get to help people feel great about themselves.

I love how this industry is forever growing. I enjoy learning about new treatments, technology, and products that I can use in my treatment room to deliver the best results to my patients. When you love what you do it’s not work and I absolutely LOVE my “job”!

Sean - Co-Owner / Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Injector

I’ve always wanted to get into Medical Aesthetics ever since I can remember, but it’s a tough industry to get into. After practicing Primary Care for the under/uninsured in the Kansas City Metro area for a couple years as a nurse practitioner, I was able to breakthrough. In 2015, I joined a surgical organization where I was the lead nurse practitioner for the facial plastic surgery division. Working there provided me the foundation to my injection career. In 2017, I left this surgical organization and started working in a medical spa where I soon became the Lead Injector. It was at this medical spa that I met Nikky. After working together for a year we decided to open up Face KC Medical Spa in February of 2019. I am now a Master Injector who focuses primarily on injectables and I wouldn’t change a thing! It’s a wonderful feeling to be a business owner, but an even better feeling because I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do-Medical Aesthetics.

They can see new patients, make diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and even prescribe medication. Most states do not require the doctor overseeing the NP or PA to be on site, although there are often distance and documentation requirements .

But don’t be shy! Ask about the NP’s experience, ask about his or her overseeing doctor, and ask to see all supporting documentation if you have questions. All of this should be readily available and, if it’s not, that’s a red flag you need to take into consideration. It depends on your state, but as a general rule, yes, that’s perfectly fine.

And don’t simply take their word for it—ask for their license number (all nurses are registered with the state), ask to speak to their supervising physician, and ask for references. What are HA Fillers and how do they work?

Juvederm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid fillers suspended in a gel carrier. This gel helps the injectable hyaluronic to remain in place. The hyaluronic- acid immediately pulls in water. In this way, it increases volume. This works well for deeper to more severe wrinkles, folds, and areas of the face where more volume is needed. These fillers dissolve naturally and can last up to one year, with some lasting even longer.

There are many options for HA Fillers. To deliver dramatic enhancements, we use Restylane as well as Juvederm. You can have customized results.

What are Neurotoxins and how can they be avoided?

Botox and Dysport are injectable neurotoxins that can temporarily help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Repetitive muscle contractions can cause facial lines and wrinkles to form and get deeper over time. Botox and Dysport temporarily reduce muscle contractions. This will make the skin look smoother.

Common areas of treatment include forehead, frown lines, crows' feet, and the chin. The results can be seen in a few days, but they will improve over the next two weeks. If the dose is correct, results can last up to four weeks.

The areas that may be treated include the temples, cheeks or nasolabialfolds as well as the jawline. Most people will need three treatments within a few months. After that, they only need one treatment each year. Results can last more than two years!

What is HydraFacial exactly?

HydraFacial addresses all skin care needs with patented technology that cleans, extracts, and hydrates the skin.

HydraFacial serums are made from nourishing ingredients to give you an instant glow.

To reveal a new layer of skin, the first step is to cleanse and peel the skin. Next, a light chemical peel will be applied to smoothen the skin and prepare it in order for painless extractions. Next, debris from the pores is removed using painless suction. The skin is then nourished. To enhance the skin's glow, antioxidants as well as peptides are instilled. The best thing is that there is no downtime.

What is Dermaplane and how does it work?

Dermaplaning is a surgical procedure that uses a medical-grade blade to remove dead skin and other debris. A single session of dermaplaning is capable of removing approximately 2-3 weeks' worth of skin cells and debris. Dermplane is completely pain-free and non-invasive. The technique may look similar to shaving, but it is much more effective because the blade being used is able to get right against the top layer of skin. You don't have to worry about your hair getting darker. Dermaplaning targets the peach fuzz (vellus hair) which grows back in the same size and color. A surgical blade does not give the illusion of thicker hair. There is no downtime.

What is a Chemical Peel and how does it work?

A chemical peel involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin to remove the upper layers of the dermis. Chemical peels can help improve the skin's texture as well as radiance. Chemical peels can be performed in three strengths: deep, medium, or superficial. Your concerns and the type of peel you select will determine how much improvement your skin receives. Multiple treatments are recommended for best results.

Lashes & Brows?

Let's not forget our eyebrows and lashes. We all know that our lashes, and brows, play an important role in our overall aesthetic. Just as we color our hair, why not our eyebrows and lashes? You can create the illusion of longer lashes and brows by tinting the hair follicles.

The lash lift will take your lashes to the next level. This can add a semi permanent curl to your lashes that can last up to 6 weeks. You can save time and avoid using mascara and lash curlers by doing a lash/brow tint or a lash lift instead.

Do you have a busy schedule and don't want to spend time on lash tints or extensions? Try some Latisse! This daily at-home treatment can make your lashes longer, thicker, and darker in as little as 8 weeks.

What is Medical Grade Skincare?

You might be wondering what medical grade skincare is. To begin, these skincare products usually have higher active ingredients concentrations than the ones you might buy over-the counter. That means quicker results in less time. Furthermore, over-the counter skincare products tend to be more superficial and can penetrate deeper into your skin with medical-grade skincare products. Although some products might be more expensive than those you can buy over-the-counter, you will know that you are getting top-quality products with clinically proven results.

You think that sounds wonderful? We think so too. We offer three of our favourite products from medical-grade skincare brands, SkinCeuticals (and SkinMedica)
